Costuming Design Internship – Spring 2011 Role Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: partnering with costume Designers and Design Coordinators, performing design research, developing design presentations. Requires technical illustration ability (line drawings) and artistic rendering capabilities. Must have the ability to learn and become proficient in software applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Illustrator. The Design Intern role includes working with the WEB PDM system and is responsible for new design documentation.
Required Qualifications • Currently earning a college/university degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Costume Design or related field • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrated strong partnering skills • Demonstrated strong computer skills and willingness to learn new programs • Students must receive academic credit or recognition from their respective school to be considered • Students must be currently enrolled full-time and in good standing • Eligible candidates include undergraduates (second year and above) and graduate students • This program is a partnership between Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and the educational institution therefore students will be required to resume their studies upon completion of this program • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including overtime
Desired Qualifications • Proven experience using Photoshop, Artworks and Illustrator • Proven Design experience in the Theater, Film or Apparel Industry

Internship Eligibility • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program • Must possess unrestricted work authorization • Must provide full work availability • Must provide own transportation to/from work • Current Active Disney Cast Members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (no more than four points and/or one reprimand in the last six months)
Program Length The approximate dates of this internship are 01/11/11 – 06/17/11. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Housing A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
