MARKETING INTERN IN FASHION INDUSTRY FOR WINTER/SPRING SEASON (New York)

Established New York Based Showroom is looking for motivated interns for the Winter/Spring season. We are seeking to bring in an intern to assist with administrative office functions as well as share in the responsibility for our core activities. Candidates will also collaborate with the Showroom Management in developing import and distribution activities for International Designers.

Interns are needed a few days a week. Our days/hours are very flexible.

This innovative project will expose candidates to a vast range of activities such as:
- Assist Management in the Development of Training Tools
- Support Management during Training Events
- Review International Designers needs and discuss possible solutions with Management
- Assist Management in Developing Sales and Marketing events
- Support Management during Sales and Marketing Events
- Follow up with International Designers on all loose ends and define with management possible solution to their requests
Responsibilities also include (but are not limited to):
- Research as requested
- Assisting in Marketing initiatives via Social Networking (including facebook, twitter & blogs)
- Keeping track of inventory
- Mailing distribution
- Assisting buyers and stylists when they come to the showroom
Candidates should posses:
- Strong attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Solid written communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Sensitivity to clients' and supervisors' deadlines
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and passion for the industry
- Ability to learn quickly
- Knowledge of fashion industry/latest trends

Required skills include:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003/2007 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Capable of strategic Internet research
- Must be recently graduated or currently enrolled in a 4 year college or university pursuing a degree in Fashion, Public Relations, Communications or Marketing
Also acceptable to be enrolled/recently graduated from pursuing a 2 year associates degree (2+2 schools such as FIT)
- Previous experience in the industry is a plus but not required
