Dujour Magazine Copy Editor Intern (NYC)

Dujour Magazine, dubbed “the love child of Lula and Nylon”, is now offering
a part-time Copy Editor internship for Spring/Summer 2010. We offer an
unpaid, telecommuting internship with flexible hours for students or those looking to jump start their portfolio. The candidate will have at least two years of experience
proofreading, editing and fact-checking (school courses are acceptable).
He/she will manage the style sheet and ensure that the publication strictly
adheres to it. He/she will work with editors to ensure the very highest
levels of accuracy and consistency. A bachelor’s degree in English or
Journalism/Writing is required (or currently earning one).
Candidate must be a quick learner, extremely detail-oriented, and able to
meet deadlines and multitask. Excellent spelling and knowledge of grammar
are musts. Knowledge of AP style is a plus. Will be expected to jump in and
work independently.

ART/MULTIMEDIA INTERNSHIP with The San Francisco Bay Guardian: An independent, locally owned and edited newspaper

The Art Department of the SF Bay Guardian is looking for a motivated, self-starting intern. The position will offer the opportunity to learn about the visual and creative side of making a newspaper.

What we offer
The internship will offer the opportunity to learn about photography, web/multimedia design, and newspaper production. The intern will be trained in basic print design, shooting editorial photos, prepping images for the web, and creating multimedia content for the web.

What we expect
The Art/Multimedia Intern must be available 2 business days per week (Tuesdays as well as either Thursdays or Fridays) and the internship lasts from late May to mid-September. Must be a currently/recently enrolled college student, in pursuit of a BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media or related field.
Minimum 3 days per week required.
Students must be able to present online examples of their work in order to be considered.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

- Possess the ability to think out of the box. Creative thinking required.
- High level of interest in interactive marketing and/or interactive application development for web and mobile.

- Strong written and interpersonal skills
- Good eye for design, detail oriented
