Position Title: Manufacturing Engineering Assistant

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: Hourly


Purpose

Performs technical, clerical and other related duties as required to support Gregory’s engineering department in the new product configuration/release process, execution of engineering changes, response to internal and external informational queries, creation of a variety of communication tools and channels, maintenance of key metric scorecards and the efficient management of the department’s physical and electronic files.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for the accurate system entry of product configuration data for raw, sub-assy/phantoms and finished goods which may include but are not limited to: part number, model, description, units of measure, order policy and quantity, WIP location, planner code, commodity code, lead time, bin location, etc.
• Responsible for the accurate system entry of finished good’s Bill of Materials and Bill of Operations.
• Reviews product information to make sure it is complete and accurate.
• Manages and maintains the UPC and JAN code database for all products.
• Maintains product label files for U.S manufactured products.
• Maintain the Engineering Change Database, filing system and scorecard.
• Track Engineering Change signatures or approvals.
• Distribute documentation or e-files that are related to finalized Engineering Changes.
• Act as engineering liason/support for materials, production, purchasing, customer service, sales, vendors or partners for any technical query like product information, BOM, BOO, pricing issues, etc.
• Support engineering in distributing internal and external memos/communication.
• Prepare presentations for upper management for proposed, on-going or concluded projects.
• Partner with the manufacturing engineer in establishing Key Performance Indicators for the dept. as well as a defined means for their measurement. Maintain scorecard on a periodic basis.
• Implement and maintain a physical filing system and log for product related configuration folders.
• Analize and improve current engineering electronic filing system.
• Partner with the manufacturing engineer in developing dynamic cost sheets for Sales in order to aid in determining final product pricing.
• Update product pricing in the system on a seasonal basis.

Educational Background

• Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school in an technical related field or 3 years of progressively skilled experience in a related technical position.


Work Experience

• 1-3 years year’s working in a manufacturing/technical environment or related field.
• General understanding of structure and levels of a Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and Bill of Operations (BOO’s) for a manufactured product.
• Advanced data entry/keyboarding skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logical functions.
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively and collaboratively in teams, across functional lines and with the internal and external customers

• Posess exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to work with great attention to detail.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal or written form.
