Have you ever thought of owning your own boutique? Well now is your chance to learn the ropes!
Seasoned costume designer/stylist Erin Tavin recently launched “Tavin”- a shop that carries vintage, new designer and lifestyle items in trendy Echo Park.
Candidates must be able to commit to a minimum of three months and work between 10-15 hours per week (maximum 2 days/week).
Though this is an unpaid position, there is definitely room for growth for the right candidate. This internship is also an excellent opportunity to work with leaders in the fashion community, meet many creative types in the fashion world and gain hands-on experience and make contacts in fashion, marketing, PR, design and retail/resale businesses.
We seek a candidate with a passion for fashion, PR and marketing. There will be room for creative exchanges and input. We’re seeking a hard worker who is highly organized, very computer savvy, punctual, yet laid back (you will be working in a creative studio in a yurt, as well as at the boutique, with artsy, interesting people from the design world -- not a corporate environment).
MUST BE COMPUTER LITERATE.
It is imperative that the candidate be VERY COMPUTER literate there will be a lot of press responsibilities in this internship. We work on a MAC platform - Candidates MUST be also familiar with social networking sites and web 2.0 applications like Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Flickr etc. If you have knowledge of the adobe create suite, Photoshop in particular, this is also a plus. If you are not comfortable with these applications, please DO NOT apply.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
1. Live near Echo Park, where the creative studio and the boutique are located.
2. Have a flexible schedule.
3. Have retail experience preferably in a clothing boutique
4. Be computer and Internet savvy and be very familiar with the MAC platform, web 2.0 (Facebook, Twitter, Etsy etc.), and Photoshop.
5. Be familiar and enjoy researching fashion sites on the Internet
6. Have a car, valid drivers license, and be happy and willing to run a lot of errands.
7. Have lots of energy
8. Be Fashion Forward
9. Be able to write and format business letters.
10. Be VERY reliable
11. Be a self-starter, who can launch into projects
12. Be VERY ORGANIZED!
EXTRA POINTS IF YOU:
1. Have your own Blog and are familiar and/or have Facebook and Twitter accounts.
2. Have experience working as a visual merchandiser or as an Etsyian on Etsy.
3. Work with Excel spread sheets is a major plus
4. Have your own online store is a plus
INTERNSHIP DUTIES
1. PR and marketing (writing press releases, assembling press packets, sending newsletters, event planning, customer and press relations,
maintaining social networking pages).
2. Assistance at special events (For example, compensated work at the RoseBowl Flea Market)
3. Office work and organization
4. Running errands.
5. Help with creative brainstorming, trend and fashion research, sourcing research and branding analysis
6. Organizing, steaming, tagging photos
7. Re-merchandising store along with Seasonal Window Display
8. Many other tasks (be able to go with the flow)

SLK is an men's online sample sale site based in downtown LA. SLK specializes in mens fashion, more specific in the upscale street,surf, skate,and premium markets.
We work with brands like The Hundreds, Citizens of Humanity, HUF, Diamond Supply, Junkfood, Drifter, Insight, Creative Recreation, and more.
This is a non-paid, part-time internship with opportunity for full time position after internship is over. (college credit available).

Chic Little Devil Style and PR Intern (LA)
We are currently looking for interns in two different divisions in Public Relations and Style House. The specific tasks and expectations for each are listed below.
1. PR
Basic understanding of PR and what it is is crucial to your success in this fast paced and exciting department. We expect girls/guys that take initiative, think “outside the box”, take responsibility for their work and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Building contacts, database management, interacting with stylists, editors and celebrity publicists, press releases, magazine press clippings, new client scouting, gifting suites for events, pick ups/drop offs, celeb pulls, and organizing shoots. Must own a laptop that has MS office. PR interns only work Monday-Friday 10am-6:30pm. As well as special assignments as directed. Must be on time and stay for the full day because of the industry we are in we have things come up througout the day with VIP clients and need interns here at all times. Partial days are not okay endless pre-approved by me ahead of time.
2. Style House
Go-backing, cleaning, merchandising, running errands, pickups/drop-offs, assisting clients, assisting on photo shoots, reception duties (ie phones calls, messages, greeting clients), opening & closing duties, and special assignments as assigned. Must be on time and stay for the full day because of the industry we are in we have things come up thought the day with VIP clients and need people here at all times. Partial days are not okay endless pre-approved by me ahead of time.
This is an unpaid academic or experience only internship. We are in need of hard working self starters that can keep up with a fast paced environment. Interns are expected to work 1-3 days a week from the hours of 10:00am to 6:30pm. This is a four month commitment in which each intern that completes the internship with no more than one missed scheduled day, will receive a $200 gift certificate to our showroom & ALL OF the following information and your RESUME

Blue Stripe PR is a PR firm based in Soho with clients in women’s fashion and accessories. We are seeking candidates for an internship who are eager to learn and ready and willing to work hard.
Job duties include maintaining the showroom, assisting publicists with everyday duties, tracking samples, updating and maintaining credits, mailings, and assisting in the day-to-day workings of the office. While we sometimes work long hours, we do our best to ensure that the experience is well worth it.
Interns are needed to start as soon as possible with a 2.5-3 months time commitment working 3-4 days a week 9:30am-6pm. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested in public relations and the fashion industry. You will interact with clients, fashion editors and stylists on a daily basis.
