Washington Life Magazine is an independently owned commercial newsstand publication with a circulation of 60,000. The magazine is distributed throughout the U.S. and in Europe and Asia, 10 times per year. Washington Life Magazine, Washington D.C.’s premier luxury lifestyle publication since 1991, is in search of editorial and events interns. Internship responsibilities can include:
• Editing and proofreading magazine copy
• Contributing ideas and copy to the editorial team
• Representing Washington Life magazine at exclusive events around Washington
• Collecting images and credits for fashion features
• Assisting on the set of fashion and editorial photos shoots
• Booking photographers for events
• Arranging for magazine distribution at events
• Providing administrative support to the editorial and events team
• Maintaining RSVP lists and assisting with invitation mailings
Skills:
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of grammatical rules
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel essential, Photoshop and InDesign a plus
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• Ability to be motivated and work both independently and as a team player in a fast paced publishing environment
• Interest in fashion, lifestyle, travel and society content
