PR firm is looking for confident, driven, and personable interns. We are a growing boutique fashion PR firm located in Beverly Hills and are now interviewing student candidates for our internship. The qualified individual will have a passion for learning the business and developing a career in the fashion and public relations industry.

Responsibilities may include (but not limited to):
- Maintaining database of media contacts, stylists, editors, etc.
- Supporting staff by making research and follow-up inquiries
- Monitoring and archiving product placement in publications
- Searching media outlets – print, web, etc. for placement
- Gifting celebrities, stylists, and editors
- General office duties including – answering phones, shipping packages, ordering office supplies, assisting staff in day to day tasks

Qualifications we are looking for:
- Proactive go-getter who is willing to be hands-on
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Ability to multi-task and work both independently and within a group
- Reliable, detail-oriented and extremely motivated
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Internet research experience
- Outgoing and professional with a sense of humor
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate college/university program

Other requirements/important information:
- Minimum of 15 hours a week (2-3 days)
- Knowledge/prior experience in fashion and/or PR a plus – but not required
- Prefer students fulfilling college credit/requirements - internship is unpaid
- Must have a commitment of at least 3 months
- Position available immediately
- Must like dogs

Paid 3 Month Web and Graphics Internship (Berkeley)

Web and Graphics Intern, Marketing Department

Reports to: Marketing Services Manager
Term: Fall 2008
Hours: 16–20 per week

Job summary:

The Web and Graphics intern provides production and administrative support to the Marketing Services department. The Intern works with design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as database-driven websites. Prior experience with these programs is desired, and an eye for design, color, and composition is key. Current students of graphic design or related fields of study are encouraged to apply.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Source photos for use on new website and participate in photo selection process
• Format and upload book jackets for publisher and parent company sites
• Edit and proof text content on series websites and load in new content as needed
• As requested, assist in the design and production of print materials for publicity use
• Test links on imprint, travel series, and book-specific websites
• Fulfill artwork requests from media, distributor, and other outlets
• Assist with publicity and marketing mailings as requested

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Arts Fund digital media sector intern is an integral part of the investment and operations team, expected to play an active role throughout the entire investment from deal sourcing to pre-investment due diligence to post-investment operational improvement projects.

Responsibilities include:

Deal Development: Develop opportunities by building and maintaining a strategic intelligence network in the digital media and related industries.

Primary Research: Research proposed industry segments and develop a position on segment attractiveness for partnering, investment & acquisition activity. Perform in-depth research on specific companies to find attractive niches and targets.

Due Diligence Support: Perform a variety of due diligence activities related to target segments and companies.

Financial Modeling: Build financial models for partner/investment/acquisition targets or portfolio companies to justify pricing and valuation or quantify opportunities.

Transaction Work: Assist on structuring transactions, identifying potential partners, executives, etc.

Portfolio Company Projects: perform specific assignment for portfolio companies under the supervision of one of the Arts Fund's General Partner's or an Arts Fund portfolio company CEO.

Partner Presentations: Communicate results of analytic efforts to Arts Fund partners, in a PowerPoint presentation style with supporting analytics and modeling in Excel format.

The Intern role provides a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to the private equity industry as well as build solid analyst and management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

This is a student internship.

Knowledge of basic accounting concepts, financial modeling techniques and proficiency with standard business software (PowerPoint, Excel).

Comfortable consuming deep research materials and being able to summarize the key findings.

This position may require a modest amount of travel within North America; typically to visit companies or attend industry trade shows.

Familiarity with the digital media and related industry segments including online video, Internet gaming, Web 2.0, social media, consumer-facing content and commerce portals, Web exchanges and marketplaces, etc.
