W Magazube Fashion Closet Interns

The fashion department at W magazine seeks highly-motivated, responsible, savvy interns for the SPRING 2008 semester. This is an UNPAID position in which you must receive college credit. Full-time (4 days a week) and part-time (minimum of 2 full days) needed. You will be based in the fashion closet, working with the editors/stylists on managing the flow of clothing samples. Other responsibilities include scanning/ computer work, photocopying, filing, and other intern-ly duties. This is a very intense internship in which you must always be on toes, and often work long hours (10 AM-8 PM onward). We will need you to start ASAP! We will be conducting interviews ASAP.

Ruby Press, a boutique public relations agency located in Berkeley, CA, is seeking a mature, professional intern who is interested in learning multiple aspects of the industry. The position is part time, 20 hours per week. This is a wonderful opportunity for an energetic, confident individual seeking an entry-level position in a public relations firm specializing in fashion, beauty and lifestyle clients. This is an unpaid internship lasting six months, beginning the 1st week of May.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist dynamic, highly motivated team at a boutique P.R. agency specializing in fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain press contact database and client files

• Excellent organizational skills with near-maniacal attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, ability to deal with strong personalities while maintaining high degree of professionalism
• Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and in a fast paced environment – multi-tasking not just a buzz word, but is daily existence for person filling this position
• Proficiency creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Positive, cheerful, team-oriented attitude
